Cycling
In the city and its surroundings, there are countless cycling routes for fans of both plain and mountain cycling routes, i.e. uphill cycling. The most popular routes are along the Drava River, along Pohorje, along the wine-growing hills of Kozjak, and at the same time, it is an excellent starting point for cycling trips to Prekmurje and Slovenian or Austrian Carinthia.

Skiing
Mariborsko Pohorje, together with Areh, is considered to be the largest winter centre in Slovenia. It has about 42 kilometres of ski runs and 20 different ski lifts. In addition to night skiing, it offers visitors many other winter activities.

Wake Park
Dooplek Wake Park is the first Slovenian "full-size wake park" - a water surfing and skiing centre. The park is situated in the municipality of Duplek, only 10 minutes by car from Maribor.
